Axis of Metal’s ethos is one of unbridled integrity, tenacity, and a commitment to support the metal genre in all of its many facets. Throughout the course of Axis Of Metal’s life, many underground and emerging acts have slung their wares at us, looking for someone to breathe life into their music.

Axis Of Metal … has obliged.

We have dealt with many bands whose musical efforts are some of the purest and most exciting metal that has passed through our coverage radar. We are committed to bringing this music to the metal masses.

The Axis Of Metal staff have compiled twenty-two tracks from twenty-two underground and unsigned bands, and created a FREE downloadable/streamable compilation, that spans from one end of the metal spectrum to the other.

Contained in this compilation are artists spanning from black metal, to thrash metal, to progressive metal, to all different flavours of death metal, and everything in between. If you like metal, you will find desirable sounds in this twenty-two track metal opus, designed to give back to the bands of the underground, and give the global metal community music, that we all at Axis Of Metal have enjoyed so much.

This will be an ongoing effort, and new compilations will be compiled throughout the year as new bands come our way.

The compilation will be entitled “The Axis Of The Underground Vol. 1” and will be released on Monday, August 6th 2012. [8/26/12]

Full track-listing and included artists will be released two days from today, on August 1st, 2012. [8/1/12], and then later on in the week, cover art will be revealed, and then on August 6th, 2012, downloads and streams will be available for FREE, on this page.

About the Author

Paul Ferritto [Fritz]
First off, Fritz isn't my real name. It's a nickname I've had for so long, that I forget sometimes that my real name is Paul. So for all intents and purposes all you fine people can call me Fritz.

Anyway I'm one of the co-founders of Axis Of Metal, which I created out of a love for all things heavy. Admittedly my first foray into music wasn't so heavy. At twelve i developed a love for grunge music, which then lead to a love of classic rock, and punk. Then as I consumed almost every piece of music in said genres I needed something with a bit more intensity, and something more extreme. One day I was walking through the halls in my high school, and i heard music blasting out of someone's headphones, and it was exactly what I was looking for. So after I found out that it was Slayer's "Disciple" I went home that day, and listened to every song Slayer had ever released, and that's how it all started.

So that's my story, so why not go out and listen to me blabber on, on the podcast or go and read what the Axis Of Metal's writing team has to say. Axis of Metal is created by metal heads, for metal heads.
